Tracking SARS-CoV-2 genetic drift across migration patterns

Data from Nextstrain and GISAID.

  • Yellow nodes (samples) represent test results collected from new COVID-19 cases. Their vertical height reflects the date of testing, with lower samples collected more recently.
  • Green nodes (branches) represent mutations. Their size reflects the degree of differentiation from the first reported strain of SARS-CoV-2.
  • Blue nodes (locations) represent places where test results have been collected.
